The Shenandoah Valley Writing Academy @ Bridgewater College (SVWA@bridgewater.edu) is a two-week summer program intended to help area elementary, middle and high school educators hone their own writing skills and learn to teach writing more effectively to their students. As a participant in the educator session, you’ll earn 90 recertification points as you spend two weeks learning new teaching strategies.

EDUC/ENG 475 Shenandoah Valley Writing Academy: Writing Workshop in the Classroom is a team-taught course associated with registration in the Shenandoah Valley Writing Academy. Participants in the course will receive 3 hours of undergraduate credit (counting for 90 recertification points under option #1 of recertification guidelines).
Participants will take part in the July 7-18 academy and then 3 seminars (9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) to be held on Saturday mornings (August-December 2014). TOTAL COST: $325 ($125 for the academy and $200 for the course seminars, follow-up materials, and 3 undergraduate credit hours from Bridgewater College.)
