Wildwood Park

Wildwood Park is on the North River, which runs through the south end of Bridgewater.  It is a place for fishing, solitude, picnicking, boating, etc.  It is within walking distance of my house, and it is a blessing to have such a nice place so close.  This portion of the site deals with the process of how various members of the local community got together with the Town of Bridgewater to make the park both usable and natural, and reclaimed in a way that our local population would take ownership and ultimately produce a better stewardship of that area.  The links will take you through the process of what has happened with the park.

This sign indicates the importance of any body of water and how it ultimately feeds into our ocean basins.  In Virginia an important concern is the runoff into Chesapeake Bay. My personal landmark in the Park is the cable bridge. You can stand in the middle and stare down into the water, observing the life that is there.  If you stare long enough, you see more than just the life that is there:)
