How to Use Threaded Discussions and Real-time
Communication
I. Uses for a Bulletin Board System in Education
- Hosting Threaded (Asynchronous) Discussions -
allows persons to take as much time as they are willing
to commit to initiating and responding to discussion
themes and to do so at a time convenient to their
schedules
- Posting Announcements for All Participants to
Read (and Respond to, as Necessary)
II. Uses of a MOO in Education
- Hosting Real-time (Synchronous) Discussions
- Pursuing Creativity in the Creation of Virtual
Spaces
- Exploring Simulations of the Real World
- Programming the MOO Environment
