Bridgewater College - Summer 2004 | |
| AC 100 Place a Class in the MOO or BBS |
||
| Instructor: Dr. Richard L. Bowman |
Teaching faculty members at Bridgewater College can add any of their classes to the bulletin board system (BC-BBS) or the virtual academy (BC-MOO) by contacting the director of academic computing.
Both the BBS and the MOO can be used by students located anywhere that there is an available connection to the Internet. They can be in their dorm rooms, at their home in another state or even on a trip around the world.
Richard Bowman, director of academic computing, may be contacted by phone or email.
The following information must be available for a class to be added to either the BC-BBS or the BC-MOO.
Note #1: Faculty members who have never been given a character and associated "rooms" in the BC-MOO may request to be added to the BC-MOO community at any time, even if they are not teaching a course needing to meet in the MOO. Professors are encouraged to gain access to and to experiemnt with the MOO before needing to use it.
Note #2: Forums in the BC-BBS can be set up at any time for instructors who request the creation of such forums. If desiring to use a BBS forum immediately at the beginning of a semester, professors can add discussion questions to the aapropriate forum even before the class begins and students are added to the forum.
Note #3: While faculty can gain access to both the BC-BBS and the BC-MOO at any time, students in classes cannot be added until after the final registration day at the beginning of the semester. A class will be added as soon after this date as desired by the faculty member.
Note #4: If students join your class at any time after the original class was entered into the BC-BBS or the BC-MOO, simply contact Richard with the name of the student and the course identifier.
