Welcome!
I'm an Assistant Professor in the
Department
of Sociology at Bridgewater College
in Bridgewater, Virginia.
I am the advisor for the Department's
minor
in Crime and Justice.
I routinely teach many of those courses including Law
& Society, Criminology, Adjudication & Corrections, World Justice
Systems, Public Security & Insecurity and the Senior Practicum - Seminar
in Crime and Justice. I also teach Principles of Sociology and,
occasionally, the research methods series.
My professional interests include: community
development, social cohesion and disorganization, crime and deviance;
social
networks; the cognition of social structure; the measurement of
fundamental network properties, such as
social distance and acquaintanceship volume; program evaluation, methodology and statistics.
