The Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Director of the Information Technology Center reports to the Vice President for Finance, and serves as the institution's chief technology officer. The CIO/Director manages the C.E. Shull Information Technology Center, which provides customer support to students, faculty, staff, and alumni. He is responsible for managing all campus technology, including administrative and academic computing as well as the campus data, voice, and video network. The following positions report to the Chief Information Officer:

Born in Harrisonburg, VA, Mr. Houff received his undergraduate degree at James Madison University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He pursued further coursework at George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College. After graduating from JMU, Houff taught in the Fairfax County Public School System for five years. He continued his career as a Systems Instructor for System Development Corporation, then a Burroughs Company, teaching courses in database management and administration, programming, and computer networking. He went on to work for a private network consulting company, Network Strategies, Inc., which eventually was acquired by Ernst & Young. During his tenure at Ernst & Young, Houff managed a number of major engagements for companies and organizations including Bell Atlantic, The Limited, Inc., JC Penney Business Services, the State of Indiana, and the Federal Aviation Administration. Immediately prior to coming to Bridgewater College, Houff was employed by RMS Information Systems, Inc. (who later merged with Intellisource). There, he held several management positions - the last two years serving as the Deputy Program Manager on an FAA contract worth over $100M. | ||
