Dean Miracle received his bachelor's degree from Newberry College (S.C.), which he attended on a football scholarship. He received both his master's degree in Counseling and doctorate in Counseling and Student Personnel Services from the University of Georgia. While at the University of Georgia, he worked in Admissions, Housing, and the Alumni Office. Then, after a two-year stint at his alma mater as Director of Alumni Affairs, he became Dean of Students and Registrar at Suomi College in the upper peninsula of Michigan. In 1980, Dr. Miracle came to Bridgewater College as Dean of Students and has held that position ever since. Dr. Miracle and his wife, Andrea, have been in the process of restoring a farm house (circa 1900). Their daughter, Molly, completed her master's degree at the University of Virginia, and teaches AP Government at Western Albemarle High School. Their son, Andy, graduated from Bridgewater College in 2003, and is currently doing BVS. Dr. Miracle and his family attend the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren. Dean Miracle believes in every student's potential to succeed. He sees the role of Student Affairs as nurturing that potential, lending both challenge and support to each student. Rebecca Hall 202 |
