Prof_E_Huffstetler says, "Okay, let's be clear on this, there's another group looking at the question of our relationship to the environment, your discussion is supposed to be on our romanticizing primitive cultures, the leavers..."

Prof_E_Huffstetler says, "We, on the other hand believe we were "cast out" of the garden, that we ahve no connection to nature except to exploit it and control it, We often see nature as an enemy we have to overcome."

April_F says, "other cultures are more connected with nature some even worship it""

April_F says, "we are talking about how different cultures and there relationship with nature""

April_F says, "iam not very educated on other cultures so it's hard for me to compare them with us""
TiffanyAB says, "some of those people are dying b/c they refuse to utilize thier resources"

TiffanyAB says, "they see some of those things as sac-religious""
April_F says, "like in India were they worshiped cows""
TiffanyAB says, "but that is not necesarily b/c they value the land it it more for religious purposes""

Clifton_D says, "but also some of those countries dont have the technology to take from nature""

April_F says, "Yes but is this because of there beliefs or because they are poor""

TiffanyAB says, "just depends on where you are, a lot of those people are offered help amd they refuse it b/c they think that God will come through.""

John_B._[Guest] says, "When you are poor you have to respect nature, because in some culture's thats what one lives off of every day"

TiffanyAB says, "i think that they believe if they take care of the land it will inturn take car eof them""

April_F says, "they hunt and take what they need and leave the rest. they don't think that they contol the world like we do""

TiffanyAB says, "look at all the food we waste everyday... that does not happen in the wild... everyone plays a role""

Clifton_D says, "they used every part of what they killed, we just use one or two things""

TiffanyAB says, "we take over the land to build things... and it just seems like one really large cycle now... that cannot be stopped until there is no other alternative""

TiffanyAB says, "i might look up some of thise cultueres and look at what they are doing and how those thigs could help us""
April_F says, "thats the hardest part of writeing a paper I think""

April_F says, "We might have to come up with a topic by TUe""

April_F says, "we have been discussing this topic and what topics we could use for a paper""
John_B._[Guest] says, "I think we have made substancial progress"
Prof_E_Huffstetler says, "Did you not find the topic good enough? Or interesting enough? "
John_B._[Guest] says, "I thought the topic was interesting"
TiffanyAB says, "yeah, we are just done... i personally cannot think of anything else to say, based on those questions""
April_F says, "i found that i would like to learn more about the leaver cultures because I don't know much about them""
Clifton_D says, "I thought we all kind of agreed with eachother, and then we had nothing else to agrue""
April_F says, "yea we did all agree""
John_B._[Guest] says, "well the topic was kinda easy to understand "
TiffanyAB says, "but i thought the topic was interesting""
Prof_E_Huffstetler says, "So, maybe you could discuss examples of those cultures and how they differ from us--like the way we slaughtered the vast herds of buffalo in just a few decades when natives had hunted them for thousands of years without diminishing them at all"
Clifton_D says, "its hard to talk about cultures we dont know much about""
April_F says, "yea we did have a good discussi on the Native Americans""
Prof_E_Huffstetler says, "Or the way we allow many peoples to harvest whales, even though industrial countries can't anymore because we slaughter them on too massive a scale..."
