Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment (VCLA) Paper test registration fee: $40 Computer test registration fee: $50 Reading subtest: $40 Writing subtest: $40 All Teacher Education Program applicants A total test score at or above 470 Must pass prior to being admitted to the BC Teacher Education Program As early as possible.
Praxis: Core Academic Skills for Educators: Mathematics (5732) $90 each for standalone tests All Teacher Education Program applicants 150; May be exempted with a cumulative SAT score of at least 1100 with a minimum math AND verbal SAT score of at least 530 or an ACT composite score of at least 24 with a minimum math score of at least 22 AND ACT English plus reading score no less than 46 Must pass prior to being admitted to the BC Teacher Education Program As early as possible.
Praxis Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects (5001) [if you do not pass one of the subject area tests, can retake as a standalone test (Reading and Language Arts: 5002; Mathematics: 5003; Social Studies: 5004; Science: 5005)] $170 for Multiple Subjects Test; $60 for each standalone test All TEP candidates seeking licensure with a PreK-6 endorsement You must receive a passing score on each subtest.

Praxis Series Reading for Virginia Educators (RVE) (Paper—0306; Computer—5306) Paper – $80; Computer – $130 All TEP candidates seeking licensure with a PreK-6 endorsement Scaled score 157 Must take prior to student teaching; must pass in order to obtain licensure with a PreK-6 endorsement After completing EDUC 330 and EDUC 332
Praxis Middle School Content Knowledge [tests vary with content—click on link above for information on DOE website] Varies: Generally $115 All TEP candidates seeking licensure with an endorsement in certain Middle Education content topics Varies by content Must take prior to student teaching; must pass in order to obtain licensure with an endorsement in a 6-8 content area Prior to your senior year at BC (transfer students during 3rd semester)
