Elizabeth Lee and Jayne Scott to Give Recital on Oct. 22

Elizabeth Lee and Jayne Scott will present a recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.
For her senior trumpet recital, Lee will perform selections from Arutunian Trumpet Concerto by Alexander Arutunian, Suite in D Major and Aria con Variazoni by George Frideric Handel and Pavane by Maurice Ravel. Lee will also perform a trumpet duet, Lux et Lapis by Kevin McKee, with Dr. Christine Carrillo, associate professor of music. Dr. Larry Taylor, associate professor of music, will accompany Lux et Lapis on the organ.
Lee, a music and English double major, is the daughter of Michael and Karen Lee of Glen Allen, Va. Lee is a member of the Symphonic Band and the Jazz Ensemble and serves as upper brass captain for the Pep Band. She is secretary of the campus chapter of National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
Lee studies trumpet under Carrillo. She will be accompanied on piano by Lacey Johnson, instructor of music.
For her junior oboe recital, Scott will perform the first two movements, “Adagio” and “Allegro,” from Concerto No. 8 in B-Flat by Handel, the first movement, “Allegro,” from Sonata K.V. 370 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and two pieces, Simple Gifts and Laurie’s Song by Aaron Copland. She also will perform Romance No. 1 by Robert Schumann and Georg Philipp Telemann’s Presto.
Scott, a music and business administration double major, is the daughter of Jonathan and Margaret Scott of Ferrum, Va. Scott is a member of the Symphonic Band and a string ensemble. She serves as a student director for ReBellion, the college’s handbell choir. She is a member of the Concert Choir, the Chorale and Chordially Yours, a female a cappella group.
Scott studies oboe under Rhonda Stees, adjunct instructor of music. She will be accompanied on piano by Taylor.
The recital is free and open to the public.
