Jazz Ensemble to Present '2+2=5' on Nov. 5

The Bridgewater College Jazz Ensemble will present a concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

The concert, “2+2=5,” will be directed by Dr. Christine Carrillo, associate professor of music and director of instrumental music at Bridgewater College.

The program features a variety of music showcasing Bridgewater College students.

The concert includes 2+2=5 by Radiohead, Autumn Leaves by Joseph Kosma, The Way We Were by Marvin Hamlisch, Crunchy Frog by Gordon Goodwin and Duke Ellington’s Caravan.

Students with featured solos include:

Morgan Carr, a senior biology major, from Linville, Va., on trumpet;

Kevin Epps, a freshman deciding on a major with a minor in music, from Chesterfield, Va., on tenor saxophone;

Corey Gloyd, a freshman music major, from Winchester, Va., on trumpet;

Adam Kelly, a senior music major, from Mount Crawford, Va., on trombone;

Joshua Layton, a junior music major, from Greenwood, Del., on tenor saxophone;

Elizabeth Lee, a senior music and English double major, from Glen Allen, Va., on trumpet;

Parker Lindquist, a senior music major, from Manassas, Va., on congas;

Deonte McLean, a sophomore music major, from Dunn, N.C., on piano;

Philip Meador, a senior communication, technology and culture major with a minor in music, from Roanoke, Va., on alto saxophone;

Sean Moulton, a senior music major, from Faber, Va., on claves;

Daniel J. Patton, a junior music major, from Catlett, Va., on drums; and

Alex Ward, a senior music major, from Staunton, Va., on drums.

Skip Burzumato, instructor of sociology at Bridgewater College, will be featured on guitar.

The concert is free and open to the public.
