Oratorio Choir Set to Perform Feb. 23

The Bridgewater College Concert Choir, Chorale and Oratorio Choir will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.

The performance is under the direction of Dr. John McCarty, assistant professor of music and director of choral music at Bridgewater College.

The Oratorio Choir, which includes students, faculty and alumni, will perform Missa Brevis in B-Flat Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, accompanied by an orchestra of musicians from the local community.

The Concert Choir will perform movements from Gioacchino Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle. Dr. Larry Taylor, associate professor of music at Bridgewater College, will accompany on organ, and Lacey Johnson, instructor of music, will serve as accompanist on piano.

The Chorale will perform Magnificat by Francesco Durante, accompanied by Johnson on the piano.

The concert is free and open to the public.
