Bridgewater’s Baccalaureate service will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 6 p.m. under the tent on the Campus Mall.
What is Baccalaureate?
Baccalaureate is a worship service honoring the graduating class. The service will last approximately one hour and includes multiple hymns, musical selections from the choir and the Baccalaureate message. This is also the first opportunity graduates have to wear their caps and gowns. Baccalaureate is open to any guests that would like to attend.
Tickets are not required for the Baccalaureate service on Friday evening.
A reception will be held following the Baccalaureate Service, at approximately 7 p.m., in the Main Dining Hall, Kline Campus Center. Guests can arrive at the reception directly following the conclusion of the Baccalaureate Service. President Bushman will give a greeting at 7:30 p.m.
Graduates who wish to attend the Baccalaureate reception will not be charged as long as they present their college ID at the door. Guests will pay at a rate of $8.50 for adults and $5.50 for children ages 5 -12.
In order to avoid lines at the door, there will be opportunities to pre-pay for the reception by purchasing tickets in advance. The Dining Hall will have tickets available for purchase beginning Monday, April 29. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted by the cashier at the entrance to the Dining Hall.
In addition, Parkhurst will be on the Campus Mall following Commencement Rehearsal on May 2 and also prior to the Baccalaureate service on May 3. Graduates can purchase reception tickets following rehearsal, or guests can purchase tickets ahead of Baccalaureate. Only cash or checks will be accepted at those times.
