Many students don’t realize that the vast majority of those who apply to private colleges receive some form of grant or scholarship (and this doesn’t include loans!). But much of this aid goes unused because students fail to complete their applications.
In 2016 alone, Bridgewater awarded more than $40,000,000 in academic scholarships and institutional grants.
Are you missing out?
Two clicks away from $20,000
Our research shows that almost one third of college applications are started but never completed. Beyond that, the largest pool of incomplete applications are only missing test scores (like the SAT or ACT) and high school transcripts.
Students are usually only “two clicks” away from finishing their applications and becoming eligible for financial aid and scholarship awards.
Simply visiting the College Board or ACT website and requesting that your test scores be sent to the College and then sending an email to your high school registrar is often all that stands in the way of significantly lightening the financial burden of attending college.
In fact, 99% of Bridgewater students receive some form of financial aid – and 95% of students received more than $20,000 in aid for the 2016-2017 academic year. Last year, the average institutional grant (not including any loans) was $24,053.
If you have applied to Bridgewater (or any college for that matter!) check to make sure you have completed your application and had your test scores and transcripts sent to the College.
If you have not yet sent your SAT or ACT scores to the school, then contact them and have your scores forwarded to us. You can log in to your College Board account here. You can find your ACT account login here. Bridgewater’s SAT College Code is 005069. Our ACT College Code is 4342.
Some students and their families are overwhelmed by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). We are happy to help walk you through all of the steps and can answer any questions you might have. To contact us, simply email us and we’ll be happy to help.
Don’t “leave money on the table” when it comes to your college education! Bridgewater’s goal has always been to help students and their families experience a rewarding and affordable college education.
