The best way to experience Bridgewater College is to visit campus. That’s when you’ll see what life at BC is really like. Once you can picture yourself as an Eagle, you’ll know this is the right place for you.

Personalized Visit: September – November

Our admissions counselors are traveling to fairs and visiting high schools in September, October and November.  During these months we will have group information sessions followed by a student-led tour.

Appointment Times:

  • Monday - Friday at  9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays (beginning in September through the first Saturday in May): 8:15 a.m., 9 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
    October 1: Family weekend - info sessions only, no student led tours
    October 8: Campus closed
    October 22: Homecoming - info sessions only, no student led tours
    November 26: Campus closed

If you’d like your visit to include meeting with a professor or a coach, attending a class or visiting the BC Equestrian Center, please give us at least a one-week notice in order to make the best possible arrangements. Our Saturday appointments often fill quickly, so call us as early as possible to get your first choice.

Personalized Visit: December – May

A personalized campus visit is usually two hours long and includes an information session with an admissions counselor, followed by a student-led campus tour.

Note: March 3-12 is spring break. No students will be on campus but the admissions office is open.

The admissions office will be closed on the following dates:

  • April 8: Freshman Orientation
  • April 15: Easter Weekend
  • April 29 Freshman Orientation

Summer Visit: May - August

Summer is a great time to get a “first glimpse” of Bridgewater College.  Schedule a visit to meet with an admissions counselor where you will gain insight on the admissions process, academics, financial aid and student life. Bring your questions and we will have answers for you.  A tour of campus is included and the entire visit takes about 90 minutes.

We encourage summer guests to come back for a second visit when school is in session to experience Bridgewater when it’s in full swing.

  • Monday - Thursday: 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Friday: 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. (The admissions office will close at noon on Fridays)

The admissions office will be closed May 30, June 10 and July 4, 2016.

Open House

A visit to Bridgewater College is a must for you to see and appreciate all that the College has to offer. Our faculty, staff and students invite you and your family to visit during one of our Open Houses and to see firsthand the difference a Bridgewater College education could make in your life. Open houses are scheduled on Saturdays with activities beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m.

Each Open House includes:

  • Administrative panel for parents
    Includes information about academic affairs, admissions, student life, financial aid and information technology.
  • Student panel for prospective students
    Prospective students ask a panel of current students questions regarding academics, student life, meals, sports and other questions they may have regarding campus life.
  • Meeting with faculty, staff and coaches
    Held in the Funkhouser Center. Prospective students may visit with faculty from their area of academic interest, receive information about admissions and financial aid, and meet coaches from their respective sports.
  • Lunch and campus tour

Northern Virginia and Richmond Area Receptions

  • Northern VA reception: February 19, 2-4 p.m. at Uncle Julio’s, Gainsville, VA
  • Richmond reception: February 26, 1-3 p.m. at Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant, Richmond, VA

Rather than traveling to the BC campus, stay in your local area and we will come to you.

Meet with a current student to get their input about campus life, speak with a professor to find out about academics, talk with an alum to share their experiences about life after college and most importantly meet some of your future classmates!

This is a causal event that we are hoping you and your family will attend!  There will be light refreshments provided.

Family and Consumer Sciences Visitation Day

Interested in child development, family life education or gerontology?

On Friday, March 17, 2017, join us for a visit in the Bridgewater College Family and Consumer Sciences Department to explorer these programs.

This is a great opportunity to hear from department faculty and students about what it means to be a family and consumer sciences student at Bridgewater College.  Attend classes and experience the Bridgewater College learning process firsthand.

Lunch will be provided.

  • 10-10:50 Q&A with faculty and students
  • 11-11:50 Campus/department tour with students

Sophomore and Junior Spring Visitation: April 10-13 and April 17-21

During this time when many high schools are having their spring breaks, we would like to invite you to spend some time with us! We will be holding group sessions for sophomores and juniors.  

Visit Bridgewater College and learn about academics, student life, athletics, financial aid and admissions. A tour of campus follows.

During the weeks of April 10 and April 17, there will be morning sessions starting at 10:30 a.m. and afternoon sessions starting at 1:30 p.m.

High school seniors and transfer students, please call the admissions office at 540-515-3753 to set up your individual visit.
