Have you ever wondered about the songwriting process? What it is that moves an artist to create? Join Scott Christopher Murray on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for Engaged Learning for an intimate evening of music, storytelling and conversation.

Murray is an accomplished singer/songwriter and veteran of the acoustic music scene. He’s a Grammy-nominated musician living in Fulks Run, Va. Raised in the Shenandoah Valley, he has absorbed its rich story-telling and musical traditions and has traveled and performed most of his adult life. His music reflects life, love and loss wrapped in beautiful melodies and artful musicianship. Murray’s second album, “Short Stories,” was nominated for contemporary folk album of the year.

Sponsored by the Margaret Grattan Weaver Institute for Regional Culture, the event is free and open to the public.
