Special Collections Exhibition: The Importance of Place

May 20 , 8:00 am September 30 , 4:30 pm

The Robert R. Newlen ’75 & John C. Bradford Special Collections at Bridgewater College will display “Celebrating Our Past, Creating Our Future: The Importance of Place” from May 20 to Sept. 30, 2024.

The exhibition will highlight special areas on Bridgewater’s campus by combining an array of images both old and new. Historic photographs and artifacts contained in the College’s archives will be paired with architectural renderings of spaces which have either recently undergone major renovations or will soon be renovated through Connections: The Campaign for Bridgewater College. Together, these images will celebrate BC history and pay homage to important areas on campus such as Bowman Hall, the Alumni Gym, Rebecca Quad and track and field spaces.

Special Collections Librarian Stephanie S. Gardner curated the exhibition.

The exhibition is free to the public and shows on the lower level of the John Kenny Forrer Learning Commons during the hours that the building is open to the public:

  • 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays, closed Saturdays and Sundays, during the summer through Aug. 9
