Preparing interns for leadership excellence
- Did you complete an internship, practicum or any other type of experiential learning experience?
- Was it at least 100 hours (credited or non-credited)?
- Has your internship prepared you to be a leader?
- You might be eligible for a $350 award.
Apply before the deadline each year to be considered for the Showker Award. You must submit your final paper from the experiential learning experience, a letter of recommendation from your site supervisor and a personal essay addressing how your experience helped develop your leadership skills and gave you new insight into the nature of leadership.
Up to three students will receive the Showker Award for Internship Excellence and a prize of $350 each. The winning students will give a 10-12 minute presentation on their internship or practicum experience at the Showker Award for Internship Excellence award ceremony.
Sponsored by the Zane D. Showker Institute for Responsible Leadership, the Showker Award recognizes the leadership development of Bridgewater College students. It encourages the acknowledgment of leadership in supervisors and the connection of the internship experience to the liberal arts education at Bridgewater College.
