Activist to Speak on Sex Trafficking in Nepal

David Radcliff “Trafficing: Suffering and Surviving”

Activist David Radcliff will speak on Nepali victims and survivors of sex trafficking in a talk at Bridgewater College on Wednesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. in the Carter Center for Worship and Music. His talk is entitled “Trafficking: Suffering and Surviving” and is free and open to the public.

According to Radcliff, tens of thousands of Nepali women and girls are trafficked into the sex trade every year. His nonprofit organization, New Community Project, works to support education and empowerment for women and girls around the world. His talk will explore why trafficking happens, how it traumatizes young women and how victims become survivors as they put their lives back together.

Radcliff is a 1975 graduate of BC and was awarded the College’s West-Whitelow Humanitarian Service Award in 2008. He also holds graduate degrees from Bethany Theological Seminary. Radcliff directs the New Community Project, a nonprofit focused on environmental sustainability, human justice and experiential learning. He regularly speaks in schools and colleges and leads educational tours to Africa, Asia and the Americas.

This talk is sponsored by the Kline-Bowman Institute for Peace and Justice.
