Bridgewater College alumnus Aurora Powell ’16 will exhibit their acrylic paint on canvas in the Beverly Perdue Art Gallery from Oct. 5 through Nov. 5, 2026. There will be an artist’s talk and reception on Oct. 5 from 5-7 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Powell is an acrylic painter living in the Capital Region of Upstate New York. Born in Virginia in 1994, they moved in 2018 to experience a new environment and area of the country, while remaining close enough to the geographical features of the Shenandoah Valley and Appalachian Mountain range to feel at home. They enjoy biking, hiking, reading and playing card games in their free time. They dislike crowds and enjoy bike rides to the local town’s farmer’s market and to the local venue for punk shows and other music.
The Beverly Perdue Art Gallery is located in the Forrer Learning Commons (FLC) at BC. A map of campus is available at bridgewater.edu/map. The exhibit is open during the following hours when the FLC is open: libcal.bridgewater.edu/hours.
