Bridgewater Seniors to Present Recital Nov. 9

Jacob McDaniel (bass guitar) and Alexander Ward (percussion) will present a senior recital featuring “Anxious Blues” composed by the two musicians

Jacob R. McDaniel and Alexander D. Ward will present a senior recital at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

For his percussion recital, Ward will perform “Swerve” by Gene Koshinski, “Alla Pollacca” by Nebojša Jovan Živković and “Engine Room” by James Campbell. He also will perform “Anxious Blues” by himself and McDaniel.

Ward, a music major, is from Staunton, Va. He is a member of the Symphonic Band, the Jazz Ensemble and a jazz combo.

Ward studies percussion under Marlon Foster, adjunct instructor of music at Bridgewater College.

For his bass guitar recital, McDaniel will perform “Money” by Pink Floyd, “California” by John Mayall and “Sitting on Top of the World” by Walter Vinson.

McDaniel, an applied chemistry major with a minor in music, is the son of John and Kate McDaniel of Harrisonburg, Va. He is a member of the Jazz Ensemble.

McDaniel studies bass guitar under Richard Adams, adjunct instructor of music at Bridgewater College.

Kevin N. Epps, a sophomore psychology major, from Chesterfield, Va., will accompany McDaniel on tenor saxophone.

The recital is free and open to the public.
