Kevin Epps presented a junior saxophone recital on April 10 in the Concert Hall in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the audience was limited to students and faculty who were required to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

For his saxophone recital, Epps performed “Arioso,” “Ballad” and “Sephardic Melody” from Three Songs without Words by Paul Ben-Haim.

As a member of a Bridgewater College saxophone trio, Epps performed “Birdsong,” “Flight” and “The Journey” from Birds by Herman Beeftink with Hailey Chaney, a first-year biology major from Hagerstown, Md., and Benjamin Hancock, a senior chemistry major from Ferrum, Va.

Epps also gave the premier performance of Loose Grasp composed by Wyatt Smith, a sophomore music major from Bridgewater, Va.

Epps studies saxophone under Anthony Cincotta, adjunct instructor of music at Bridgewater College. Dr. Larry Taylor, professor of music, accompanied Epps on piano.

Epps, a music major, is from Chesterfield, Va. He is a member of the Symphonic Band and the Jazz Ensemble.
