Bridgewater College Announces 2021 Founder’s Day Award Winners

The first Tuesday in April marks Bridgewater College’s observance of Founder’s Day, an annual celebration of the College’s heritage and its founder, Daniel Christian Flory. Although the BC community was unable to gather this year for an in-person convocation ceremony, the College announced today the winners of the 2021 Founder’s Day Awards. The awards recognize the accomplishments of faculty members, staff members and one member of the senior class who exemplify the College’s commitment to excellence and to the vision of D.C. Flory.

Congratulations to this year’s winners:

Ben and Janice Wade Outstanding Teaching Award: Dr. Alan Eby, Professor of Psychology

Martha B. Thornton Faculty Recognition Award: Dr. Christine Carrillo, Associate Professor of Music

Faculty Scholarship Award: Dr. Mahan Ellison, Associate Professor of World Languages & Culture

Daniel Christian Flory Award: Heather Grant, Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine & Performance; Liz Howley, Assistant Dean of Students; Dr. Neal Rittenhouse, Associate Dean of Students & Psychologist

Founder’s Award: Gemma Leonard ’21
