Corey Gloyd presented a senior trumpet recital on March 13 in the Concert Hall in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the audience was limited to students and faculty who were required to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

For his trumpet recital, Gloyd performed Suite in D Major by George Frideric Handel, Concert Etude by Alexander Goedicke, Caprice by Joseph Turrin and Johan Leiva’s Fairytale Waltz.

A special feature of the recital was a trumpet duet, “Allegro Mastoso,” from Dialogue by Eugène Bozza, performed with Dr. Christine Carrillo, associate professor of music at Bridgewater College.

Gloyd studies trumpet under Carrillo. Dr. Larry Taylor, professor of music, accompanied Gloyd on piano. Gloyd, a music major, is the son of Jennifer Moye of Winchester, Va. Gloyd is a member of the Symphonic Band, the Jazz Ensemble and the Pep Band. He serves as president of the campus chapter of National Association for Music Educators (NAfME).
