Research areas and specializations

  • Psychological recovery of injured athletes, use of sport psychology skills by athletic trainers, and readiness of athletic training students to incorporate psychosocial skills in clinical practice

Personal interests

  • As a sport psychology consultant/mental skills coach, Dr. Washington has experience working with athletes in 18 different sports and the performing arts, from youth to professional, and her clients include collegiate national champions, high level NCAA recruits, and CEOs. When not obsessing about hockey, the Olympics, or sports in general, Dr. Washington likes to bake, do the New York Times Crossword puzzle every day, travel, and hang out with her dogs and chickens.
